The designated plot selected by the Laotongzhi in 2024 is Huangcaoba, located along the Southern Zhao National Road known as the 'Kanlu Ancient Road.' The ancient tea trees here are predominantly medium-leaved varieties, characterized by their sweet flavor and unique wild forest essence.
Common varieties like 'Cat Ear,' 'Chicken Beak,' 'Purple Bud,' and 'Purple Stem' can be found everywhere.
The continuous mountains and the Kanlu Ancient Road provide a scenic backdrop. The aroma, sweetness, and freshness of the medium and large-leaved varieties create a rich and textured experience.
Located in the Yunnan Pu-erh tea region, Huangcaoba is one of the areas with the highest concentration of ancient tea trees in Jinggu. The tea garden sits on the foothills of the Wuliang Mountain range, where tea trees coexist with wildflowers, wild fruits, and mixed hardwoods. This excellent ecological environment enhances the quality of the tea trees, while the high altitude brings a refreshing sensation, resulting in a more natural aroma and a comfortable mountain essence. It is situated in the upper reaches of the Xiaohei River, similar to Kunlu Mountain in Ning'er County. The Southern Zhao National Road 'Kanlu Ancient Road' runs through this area, which features dense forests, fresh air, and gravel-rich soil. The ancient tea trees here are mainly medium-leaved varieties, sweet and with a distinctive wild forest flavor.
