Understand the difference

Raw or ripe?

Two styles of Pu-erh. Different ways of developing flavour. Let your taste lead the way.

Ripe · Shou

Ripe Pu-erh goes through a managed pile-fermentation process. It often has a darker tea liquor and a mellow, earthy character.

Raw · Sheng

Raw Pu-erh develops as it ages. Younger teas can be bright and brisk; the character changes with the tea and its storage.

How to brew

Find your way to brew.

Tea bags

The easiest place to begin: a mug and hot water are enough.

Small pressed portions

Convenient portions for a gaiwan, teapot or infuser. The leaves still need to be separated from the water.

Cakes, bricks & tuo tea

For a slower tea ritual. Separate the leaves carefully, then brew with a gaiwan, teapot or infuser.

One bag, one cup

A simple everyday ritual.

For the two filter-bag teas above, a mug and hot water are all you need to start.

  1. Open

Remove the outer wrapper and place one filter bag in your mug.

  2. Steep

Add hot water and let the tea infuse. Adjust the steeping time to your taste.

  3. Enjoy

Lift out the bag when the tea reaches your preferred strength. Explore the flavour at your own pace.
