Mr. Bingliang Zou, the primary developer of the "75" formula standard, sought to cater to the preferences of new tea drinkers. After much careful adjustment and repeated experimentation, he successfully created the fragrant, smooth, and rich "99" classic formula in 2008.
The '9978' is a ripe Pu-erh tea produced by Haiwang Tea Industry (industry code 8) based on Mr. Zou’s "99" classic formula. The raw materials used are graded at level 7 for Pu-erh ripe tea.
Since its release, this product has been deeply loved by tea enthusiasts for its unique flavor and consistent quality. It introduced many tea drinkers to Pu-erh ripe tea and helped solidify Laotongzhi's reputation. With outstanding market share and a strong reputation, it became a flagship product of the Laotongzhi brand.
In recognition of its excellence, on November 28, 2018, it won the prestigious title of "Top Ten Famous Teas of Yunnan," becoming the only Pu-erh ripe tea to receive this honor that year.
